Ruiz is a lesbian writer, editor, and copywriter, with a host of other skills.
They have worked in the publishing industry in both literary and commercial spaces for nearly ten years now. In the last four years, they have worked in acquisitions, overseeing editorial, managing production, and assisting in robust marketing campaigns.
They bring a variety of skills to their projects whether it be copywriting that compels, editing that educates, or management approaches that get the project finished on time, V. is adept at adjusting to whatever the role requires.
With an MFA in Creative Writing, and teaching experience, they are available for workshops and panels, freelance writing work, or any position that requires knowledge about the publishing industry and education.
Aside from their work, they are passionate about folklore and mythology, Queer history, and video games.
Attended and taught at San Diego State University where they studied Creative Writing across genres including children’s literature.
